So I’ve been using this thing for a few days now and I really like it.

I’ve found that Cyanogenmod causes my phone to be a bit unstable, and the music program wasn’t working at all. I’ve restored my phone to the v1.6 developer Android OS for now.

So I found this great application for managing your blog from an android phone. I’m trying it out right now. We’ll see how things look after.

I am now an android

An Android user that is.

I’ve picked up the T-Mobile G1, unlocked it, enabled it on Fido and I have to say that it’s a pretty nice phone.

A word of warning to my fellow Fido customers. If you buy any smartphone without a data package, Fido won’t allow you to hang yourself by using data. They actually prevent you from using data a-la-carte and you must get a plan.

This means you need a data plan for at least one month to use a G1 on Fido. You need access to GPRS/EDGE at very least to log into Google using your Google account. I used my GMail account to log in.

After that part of the process the phone is completely under your control, but until you log into your Google account, you can’t even make a regular phone call. You can only make emergency calls.

Fido GPRS APN Settings:
APN: internet.fido.ca
Username: fido
Password: fido

You can safely leave the rest of the settings default. Oh and in case you need to know how to get into the APN settings menu, press the MENU button and select APN Settings from the menu which appears.

My first time hosting the Trent Anime Club

Filed under: Daily Musings — Ean @ 11:27 pm

So tonight I hosted the Trent Anime Club while its founder, Laura was in an exam. I had fun and I hope everyone else did too. We watched some great shows!

Code Geass – Episode 5 – The Princess and the Witch

Code_Geass_Ep05_The_Princess&The_Witch

First was Code Geass. This is a series that we’ve been following so continuing it is a must. In this episode we meet some new characters, continuing the character building section of the early plot.

Baccano! – Episode 3 – Randy and Pecho Are Busy Getting Ready For the Party

Baccano!_-_03

Next we watched Baccano! This series goes from oddball to occasionally hilarious. The English dub actually suits it quite well as it is set in what seems like depression-era USA. Unfortunately I only had the subs on hand. Still, a great experience.

Outlaw Star – Episode 1

Outlaw Star came next on a whim. I had never seen it and I always wondered what it was like. It turned out to feel very much like something from the nineties. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing as these days you could consider it an element of style, I suppose.

Toradora – Episode 5 – Kawashima Ami

Next I showed a series that had previously been requested, but was set to be canned for our meetings. Toradora! stars the tsundere Aisaka Taiga who meets up with a rival, Kawashima Ami in this episode.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai – Episode 1 – Reunion

Higurashi-Naku-Koro-ni-Kai-Ep-01-Reunion

This is a thriller with a twist. This episode centers mostly around three investigators as they try to unravel the happenings if June 1983 when a series of disasterous events eradicated an entire town. The clues seem to be locked in the mind of a girl who survived the ordeal only to be deemed insane.
